Staff Roles

This staff list is very temporary, and the titles listed above may not be complete or fully accurate. Rather than working on formalizing titles and all that jazz, we've been working on resurrecting the site, setting up the infrastructure and maintaining services. Please treat this list as informal, until such time as we can create a more accurate set of documents concerning the governance of GamesNET.

CoolHandLuke has designated Kog and Kuja to administrate and has delegated them with certain policy making decisions, much as GamesNET has been for years. As such, policy written on this site (referred to as "official policy") will be generated by Kog and Kuja. As our TaCoS denote, operators may make calls in case-by-case situations, but the bulk of policy will be listed on this site and will be approved by CoolHandLuke.

If there is ever confusion, please consult an op in #GamesNET, and make sure to /whois anyone claiming to be an operator - we have a very small staff, and we try and be as hands-off as possible. There's a chance that the person claiming to speak for us doesn't. If you think someone is scamming you, please join #GamesNET and ask for help. We'll sort out what's going on.

Particular issues

Racism and religion issues

    Recently we've received word that someone claiming to be GamesNET staff has been telling Semitic people, specifically Muslims, they are not welcome on GamesNET. We have no network-wide policy that discriminates based on heritage, religion or location. It is the network policy to remove users only when violating the Terms and Conditions of Service. You may be asked to communicate in network channels in English, but this reflects the linguistic education of our staff, not network-wide racism.
